SUMS Resource Booking

Booking is not currently required for Trading Room Computers or Meeting Pods.

Booked classes always take precedence over individual users, but if there is no class on, and you have permission and a legitimate educational need for the software in the Trading Room, feel free to make use of the facilities.

You do not need to book before using the Trading Room as an individual.

If you have no use for Bloomberg, Thomson Workspace, or Sage Accounts, please use alternative computing facilities, for example the Computer Room next door or the Student Study Space in the corridor at the back of Lecture Theatre 3.

Users should surrender their Trading Room computer after 1 hour if there is more demand than there are computers available.

Through this platform, students and staff can book a variety of resources, including Trading Room Workstations and PODs.

How to get booking permission

Please note: High-Performance Accounts (HPAs) are currently restricted to specific groups only.

If you belong to an eligible group, please:

  • Sign in via your MUSE account.
  • Email mgt.it@sheffield.ac.uk, providing your position and role information.
  • Once verified, we will assign you the appropriate booking permissions in line with our policy.
